Today is national Thank a First Responder Day, recognising emergency services, health care and other frontline workers.
It has been a pretty tough start to the year across Australia, battling bushfires, cyclones, floods and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Non-profit organisation Fortem, which works to improve the mental health of first responders, is behind the day.
It says more than 300,000 people put their lives on hold to help the community when needed. Anyone wanting to get involved can head to the website, or record their own message of thanks, with the hashtags #TAFRD #firstresponderday #thankafirstresponder
